A Fan Letter to Death the Kid

Dear Death the Kid,

I have to say what an honor it is to be writing you. You are, by far, my most favorite anime character to-date, though you were at odds against Edward Elric for a while, I must admit.

I first discovered you and your friends' series by pure chance while I was scrolling on Youtube over recommended FUNimation anime series during my summer vacation in Panama. At one point, I thought it was a little dark for my tastes, but the art, the story, and frankly, your humor made me stick it out.

Whether it was your fascinating, golden hawk-colored eyes, or your absolute bad-assery, I knew, in the very first moment I saw you in episode 3, I was going to like you, and possibly be falling hopelessly in love with you. You could always make me laugh, even during the darkest moments of my life, and bring in a whole other spectrum of emotions and philosophy by following you and your friends on your rollercoaster journey. While I am long over this obsession, you will always have a special place in my heart and a personal squeal anytime I see a particularly good piece of fandom, art or fiction.

However, because of my previous love, I owe a lot to you. Because you didn't give a damn about anyone telling you were strange or how something should be done, your OCD rants made me relate to and realize my own issues, and even helped me conquer my own inner "kishin-egg" demons.

You have been the easy-to-draw face on my many art works and have repeatedly been my muse for absolutely anything. You have helped shape the design of my own series of works and views on Grim Reapers, while looking absolutely symmetrically stylish~

You even made my favorite number even COOLER by association! And here I thought [when I was little], that it was cool just because you could draw a snowman or owl on it. And now, you've got me thinking all kinds of things about it, aside from ice-skating in the park.

And while I realize you are a fictional character and will never receive this letter, I have to say it: thank you. I'll even say it eight times for symmetry!
